Ramona Pascual is set to take on Tamires Vidal at UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos (also known as UFC Fight Night 214 and UFC Vegas 64) tonight. The featherweight fighter hails from Hong Kong and is the first woman from the region to compete in the UFC.
MMA is still not as big in Hong Kong as swimming, badminton, basketball, and football (soccer).
Ramona Pascual trained at the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, which serves as a training hub for up-and-coming Asian fighters. However, she moved to Las Vegas after the facility had to be temporarily closed down due to the pandemic.

Ramona Pascual will look to pick up her first UFC win at UFC Vegas 64 on Saturday
Ramona Pascual will make her third octagon appearance at UFC Vegas 64 tonight hoping to pick up her first win under the promotional banner. The 34-year-old is 0-2 in her UFC career.
Pascual suffered a unanimous decision loss against Josiane Nunes in her debut fight in February earlier this year. She took the bout on short notice as a late replacement opponent and had to shed nearly 9kgs in 10 days to hit the weight limit.
Four months later, Pascual made her second UFC appearance where she was edged out in another decision by Joselyne Edwards. Having dropped back-to-back bouts, the 34-year-old will be desperately searching for a win on Saturday when she takes on a young streaking prospect in Tamires Vidal.
Vidal will be making her promotional debut on Saturday on the back of a five-fight win streak that includes two finishes. The Brazilian is coming off a heel-hook submission win over Queila Pereira Americo Braga in her latest bout at LFA 126 in March.
Vidal will be aiming for her sixth consecutive victory and will be determined to do so in convincing fashion.
Ramona Pascual and Tamires Vidal are expected to open the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 64 tonight. The main card will be headlined by a women's strawweight clash between No.3-ranked Marina Rodriguez and No.7-ranked Amanda Lemos. The co-main event will see Neil Magny square off against Daniel Rodriguez in a welterweight matchup.
