With a win over Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 64, Neil Magny surpassed UFC legend Georges St-Pierre for the most wins in the welterweight division. 'The Haitian Sensation' finished Rodriguez with a D'Arce choke in the third round.
Magny currently holds 20 wins in the welterweight division of the UFC. The 35-year-old is followed by 'GSP' with 19 wins and Matt Brown with 16. The No.13-ranked welterweight contender currently holds a professional record of 27 wins against nine losses.
During the UFC Vegas 64 post-fight press conference, the 35-year-old explained that he was not going to compare himself to the great 'GSP' as it would only put more pressure on him:

"I believe Georges St-Pierre is the greatest welterweight of all time. It was cool to be able to get to the point that I have the most wins in the UFC right now but I just have to accept that his career is far different than mine and I can't look at Georges St-Pierre's career and what he's done in the sport and feel like I fell short or I didn't accomplish enough or anything like that because that's just added mental pressure that I just don't need."

In another one for the record books at the event, UFC debutant Tamires Vidal became the third-ever female fighter in the promotion's history to finish a bout with a flying knee to the body. Vidal finished her opponent Ramona Pascual in the very first round.
Neil Magny says capturing the welterweight title is still his end goal
During the post-fight press conference for UFC Vegas 64, No.13-ranked welterweight contender Neil Magny stated that becoming the welterweight champion of the world is still his primary goal.
'The Haitian Sensation' explained that despite setting the divisional record for the most wins, having the champion tag forever is what he truly longs for:
"I mean, I was having this conversation with DC [Daniel Cormier] earlier this week, like, yeah, it's great to be the all-time winner or whatever else, but the end of the day, I want the stamp on my career. I want to be labeled the champion for the rest of my life... I do appreciate holding the record for most wins in the welterweight division now, but that's not the end goal for me... Right now, I still want to be called the... welterweight champion of the UFC."
Neil Magny holds wins against UFC greats such as Robbie Lawler, Carlos Condit, and Johny Hendricks. For a fighter of such pedigree, becoming a UFC champion might still not be outside the realm of possibility.
