Former flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon bitterly regrets missing weight for ONE 169 and losing 26 pounds of gold in the process.
As much as the mishap pains him, the Thai megastar believes he must now move past his shortcomings and kickstart his redemption campaign.
The first step was beating familiar foe Jacob Smith in the penultimate match of the action-packed ONE 169 over the weekend at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium.
In his post-event interview after notching his 16th win in the promotion, Rodtang acknowledged his faults and vowed never to make the same mistake again.

To do so, however, he must forgive himself and look at what's ahead, saying:
"Yes, I already have a nutrition coach and a team to help me with that. But the past is past. What's done is done. I don't really like to look back. Yes, I have all this money and fame. I already invested and I put everything into my training camp."

Rodtang shares what he told Jacob Smith in the aftermath of their match
In the same interview, Rodtang addressed the amazing moment he shared with Smith after their brutal 15-minute slugfest.
The Thai marauder had his way with his British foe from start to finish. However, once the dust settled, Rodtang showed nothing but respect for his adversary, even going as far as calling him his 'brother'.
'The Iron Man' recalled:
"I just want to compliment him that he's strong, he's durable, and now we are brothers, even though my image is not that good. I don't know if he understood most of what I said, I just want to calm him down."
