Veteran Muay Thai fighter Eddie Abasolo of the United States is shooting for an explosive finish in his upcoming fight. He said it does not matter how it comes, but when the opportunity presents itself he will not hesitate to go for the finish.
The 27-year-old Filipino-American fighter from Vallejo, California, will battle Mohamed Younes Rabah of Algeria in a featherweight joust at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Nov. 8 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
In an interview with 4oz to Freedom, which was uploaded on YouTube on Oct. 23, Eddie Abasolo shared the direction he intends to take his showdown against Rabah, saying:
"If I could write the script, preferably, I would like to end it to the body. Because when you end it with a body shot they're still conscious and, you know. But to the body, to the head, to the leg, it doesn't matter to me. Whatever he gives me, I'll take it."

Eddie Abasolo is currently riding back-to-back losses, something he is looking to halt at ONE 169. Prior to hitting the rough patch, 'Silky Smooth' authored an impressive knockout victory over Niclas Larsen of Denmark in March last year.
His opponent, Rabah, meanwhile, is also angling for a bounce-back win after absorbing a TKO loss from Thai Saemapetch Fairtex in his last match back in February.
ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug will be aired live and for free at U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Eddie Abasolo sees no problem taking on taller opponent Mohamed Younes Rabah
Eddie Abasolo is going up against a taller opponent in Mohamed Younes Rabah at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Nov. 8. He, however has no problem with it, and believes that facing off with similar fighters previously has prepared him well for the challenge at hand.
The American striker made this known in the same interview with 4oz to Freedom, just as he shared that he is taking inspiration from boxing legend Mike Tyson for his showdown against Rabah.
He said:
"Since all my opponents have been consecutively tall, it's just starting to become a regular thing for me now. You know, Mike Tyson, a lot of his opponents were a lot taller than him. So it's like man it could be done. It ain't no thing."
At ONE 169, Eddie Abasolo, who is 5'10", is surrendering a four-inch disadvatage to Rabah.
