In its concluding part, 2019 wreaked havoc after the massive spread of the COVID-19 virus. UFC CEO Dana White recently reacted to the times in 2023 by mentioning Bruce Buffer. The contagion forced a global lockdown and people took measures like social distancing and wearing face masks to avoid contracting the virus.
Like other avenues, the UFC also had to organize fights in empty stadiums under strict COVID-19 SOPs. However, the world moved past those hard times, with the lockdown and face masks gradually vanishing from public places.
White once saw his famous ring announcer wearing a mask in 2023 to which he reacted hilariously on his Instagram stories. The post resurfaced on Reddit, in which the UFC CEO had mockingly said that he would talk to "his guy" regarding the mask since everything was fine:
"I gotta talk to my guy. He hasn't heard it's 2023 and everything's fine."

When Bruce Buffer fought it out with a UFC veteran in the presence of Dana White
Bruce Buffer is known for his signature announcement inside the octagon. The energy and the way he screams the names of the fighters at the top of his lungs is unparalleled in UFC. However, the prominent ring announcer once threw hands at an active welterweight UFC fighter at that time inside an elevator.
The incident dates back to December 2020. Buffer was in Las Vegas for an Ultimate Fighter TV Show and he shared an elevator with Frank Trigg. The duo also had the company of Dana White and his bodyguards when they threw hands at each other. In a video posted on UFC's official YouTube channel, Buffer shed light on the incident when Trigg caught him off guard by hitting him on the neck:
"All of a sudden, I got a wrist hand shot to my neck. I turned around and I said, ‘Frank you hit me, why the f*** did you hit me?"
The duo then went back and forth throwing punches throughout 15-20 floors of the building. Buffer further added:
“All 10 floors, we just kept going and going until the point that he threw a knee up and kneed one of my friends! Dana was against the elevator, I don’t remember seeing him. I was too busy focusing on what was going on and the adrenaline was pumping and that was when the doors started to open."

As the elevator door was about to open, Buffer realized blood on his clothes and his peeled-up flesh on one of his thumbs. He told Trigg to stop the fight and the duo walked away after a handshake. The prominent announcer and the former UFC fighter punched each other as White looked on in shock. Trigg at that time was a ranked welterweight fighter.
