UFC lightweight star Michael Chandler showed fans his romantic side after posting a heartfelt letter to his wife on social media.

Chandler took to Instagram to express his appreciation for his wife, Brie, whom he has been married to since 2014. Breaking his silence for the first time since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 281, Chandler wrote:

"The first thing I’ll always think about after the contest is over is locking eyes with you. 20,000 people in the world’s most iconic arena, but for this moment, it was just you and I... When all the dust settles and the lights fade, when the media stops calling and the journey is over, all you have left is the memories of what was and who you got to live those memories with."

The former Bellator lightweight champ proceeded to thank Brie for always being by his side. He added that he wouldn't be able to accomplish much in his career without her "unwavering love, support, and belief."

Chandler ended his message by stating that he still can't believe how "incredibly blessed" he is to find a partner like Brie.

Dustin Poirier confesses after Michael Chandler fight

Dustin Poirier revealed that he decided to fight fire with fire against Michael Chandler.

The Louisiana native secured a third-round submission win over Chandler at UFC 281. Both competitors exchanged pleasantries after the fight and seemed to have buried the hatchet.

However, Poirier revealed that he was unhappy with Chandler for allegedly using underhanded tactics. 'The Diamond' claimed that Chandler intentionally bled into his mouth and also fish-hooked him in an attempt to gain an advantage.

Appearing as a guest on The MMA Hour, the former interim UFC champ admitted that he used his own dirty tricks to get even with his opponent:

"I bit the s*** out of his [Michael Chandler's] fingers, but I had my mouthguard in, so only my bottom teeth could get him. He didn’t even try to pull it out when I bit. ... In the moment, when I was biting down on his fingers, I kind of stopped biting like, 'Oh s***, what am I doing?' Reality hit me. I’m glad I bit him, but it was an instinct."
