Michael Bisping presents his case for Jon Jones being considered the "GOAT" in UFC
Jon Jones is one of the most complete MMA fighters to grace the UFC octagon. Jones has defeated legend after legend over the past decade, including the likes of Mauricio Rua, Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort, and Glover Teixeira, while displaying few, if any, weaknesses in his game.
Jones has never been defeated except for the disqualification he received in a battle he was dominating against Matt Hamill in December 2009. He has successfully defended his 205-pound title eleven times before opting to relinquish it.
According to former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, Jones' accomplishments and spectacular resume make him the greatest mixed martial artist to step foot inside the octagon. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bisping stated:
“Jon Jones, when you look at what he’s done, when you look at the people he’s beaten, when you look at the way that he’s beat them in their own game a lot of the time, you can’t deny the man.”
He added:
“When you look at the body of work, the people that he’s beaten, legend after legend, champion after champion, the No. 1 guy pound-for-pound has got to be Jonny ‘Bones’ Jones. And I know, once again, Islam fans, Khabib fans are gonna come after me. Georges St-Pierre fans are, Anderson Silva’s fans are. But I’m sorry.... Anderson Silva, he’s definitely up there. But still, Jones, the resume, the people that he’s beaten, can’t deny it.”
