Despite Jorge Masvidal recently calling for a title shot in the welterweight division, 'Gamebred's latest win in the organization came nearly three years ago. Masvidal beat Nate Diaz at UFC 244 in November 2019 to win the 'BMF' title.
The fight was set to be a crowd-pleasing festival of violence, but failed to go past the third round due to a doctor stoppage. Diaz sustained a nasty cut over his eye, which the doctor deemed too dangerous for the Stockon native to continue.
Masvidal's previous victory was against Ben Askren at UFC 239: Jones vs. Santos. The wildly famous first-round flying knee finish came in July 2019. 'Gamebred' knocked Askren out within five seconds - the fastest knockout in UFC history.

Since beating Nate Diaz at UFC 244, Masvidal has struggled against tough opposition in the UFC. 'Gamebred' is currently on a three-fight losing streak, with Kamaru Usman beating the 'BMF' champion in back-to-back championship bouts and Colby Covington getting the better of the 37-year-old in his latest outing.
The former two-time UFC title challenger is keen on yet another UFC title shot against Leon Edwards. The two fighters have history, due to a backstage altercation in 2019, but it's hard to imagine 'Gamebred' getting a title shot in his current form.
