Islam Makhachev was insulted online by Dillon Danis with many coming out to respond to the former Bellator MMA fighter/ influencer boxer.

In an Instagram post from ESPN MMA, they stated Makhachev would be the winningest current champion in UFC today if he were to win in early June. The UFC lightweight king fights Dustin Poirier at UFC 302 and will have notched three title defenses, if he gets his desired outcome in that pay-per-view main event.

To that post, the controversial Dillon Danis commented:

"Islam is literally a inbred"

Several IG users defended Islam Makhachev and responded by referencing the viral video where Danis was subdued outside of a club by a security guard. They also referenced the jiu-jitsu player's boxing loss via disqualification to now-WWE United States champion Logan Paul.

@773joly said:

"Stfu when is your rematch with the bouncer?"

@nosebleedmma stated:

"he'd still choke you out"

@swalih____ quipped:

"and you got beaten by an youtuber"

Islam Makhachev and other reigning male UFC champs

The 32-year-old would, as mentioned, lead the pack of accomplished champions at this particular juncture. But how does the native of Russia directly compare to the title reigns of all other divisions among the men who hold belts in the UFC?

Alexandre Pantoja has a pair of flyweight title defenses with consecutive unanimous decision wins over Brandon Royval and Steve Erceg at UFC 296 and UFC 301, respectively.

Welterweight titleholder Leon Edwards also has two title defenses to his credit. 'Rocky' secured decision victories against Kamaru Usman (majority) and Colby Covington (unanimous) at UFC 286 and UFC 296, respectively.

If both win their respective contests, Edwards has a chance to tie up Islam Makhachev soon enough as he rematches Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 in July.

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has a single defense under his belt after tying up his series with the only man who has beaten him in pro-MMA. 'Suga' defeated Marlon 'Chito' Vera in a comprehensive unanimous decision victory at UFC 299 in March.

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has also notched one defense of his crown so far. This took place by way of a first-round KO over former 205-pound champion Jamahal Hill in the headliner of UFC 300 in April.

Ilia Topuria, Jon Jones, Dricus Du Plessis reign over the featherweight, heavyweight, and middleweight divisions, respectively. The commonality they all share is that they have yet to notch a single defense of their respective UFC titles as of yet.
