Fight week is officially upon us. Jon Jones is set to return to the octagon and headline UFC 285 by going up against Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight championship. The third pay-per-view of the year will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Complete details of the UFC 285 press conference are yet to be released, but as per the promotion's official site, it will take place at the KA Theater in Las Vegas. According to ESPN's website, the press conference is scheduled to be streamed on Thursday, March 2nd at 8:00 PM EST.

The press conference panel will likely include all the main card fighters considering it is a pay-per-view event. Further details will be updated as soon as the UFC officially confirms them.

While Jon Jones' return is enough of a reason to tune into the event and the promotional events leading up to fight night, the rest of the card is just as promising.

Women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will put her title on the line for the eighth time against Alexa Grasso and will hope to come out on top yet again. The champion is on a nine-fight win streak and will look to extend it against the in-form No.6-ranked contender.

Undefeated welterweight Shavkat Rakhmonov will take on Geoff Neal in a bid to continue his rise in the contenders' rankings. The lightweight barnburner between Mateusz Gamrot and Jalin Turner will also feature on the main card.

The main card opener will see one of the UFC's most exciting recruits and wrestling prodigy Bo Nickal fight Jamie Pickett in his UFC debut.

Jon Jones praises Israel Adesanya

Ahead of his heavyweight debut, Jon Jones went sneaker shopping with Complex.

While speaking about fashion, he was asked to pick out an athlete from the UFC roster who he felt would make a good choice for a sneaker brand to back. The former light heavyweight champion surprisingly picked Israel Adesanya, a fighter whom he doesn't necessarily see eye-to-eye with.

He said:

“If I had to recommend you know, I don’t like this fighter very much but I can’t deny it, Israel Adesanya. Yeah, yeah, you know Izzy, he’s a statement maker. He’s not afraid to step outside of the box when it comes to his fashion and things like that. I can see him being a great sponsored athlete [to have]. I actually think he has a Puma deal, well deserved, well deserved.”

Jones was famously sponsored by Nike 10 years ago, becoming the first ever mixed martial artist to earn a global deal from them.
