Where is Cameron Vuong from?
Cameron Vuong hails from Blyth, Northumberland, England, and trains at the Birtley Boxing Club under coach Graeme Rutherford alongside the likes of Cyrus Pattinson, Mark Dickinson, and Calum French.
While there isn't much data on the 22-year-old's ethnicity, Vuong is commonly known as a Vietnamese surname, and the Englishman may have some roots in the Asian country.
After an immensely successful junior career, 'The One' was signed by Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing and is now in the company of superstar pugilists like Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor, and Dmitry Bivol. As mentioned, he has a perfect 6-0 record as a professional boxer.
He started his professional journey in Oct. 2023 against Engel Gomez, winning his debut with a stunning fourth-round knockout. He then beat John Henry Mosquera via decision before knocking out Michael Dufek and Ishmael Ellis. After that, Vuong outpointed Jeff Ofori in June before signing for the Joe Hughes fight.
He also won the Senior Elite ABA Title at Lightweight and the Tri-Nation Title. Given his skills and talent as a boxer, it's unsurprising that the Matchroom Boxing frontman has huge expectations from the youngster.
During an interview, Hearn lauded Vuong's boxing talent and shared his prediction for the Blyth native's future. He said:
"There has been a lot of noise coming from the North East about just how good this young man can be, and now he will have the platform and backing to grow into a star of North East boxing. The famous Birtley Boxing Club has produced so many gems, and Cameron looks set to be the next one." [H/t: Chronicle Live]
