Joanderson Brito has lately been on a roll, amassing a five-fight win streak with all those victories coming via stoppage (three by KO/TKO and two by way of submission). A DWCS (Dana White's Contender Series) alum, Brito's UFC main roster debut ended in a unanimous decision defeat for him against Bill Algeo in Jan. 2022.
'Tubarao' hasn't lost since. He's been attempting to break into the featherweight top 15 for a while, and he could potentially do that by extending his win streak. Brito faces France's William Gomis in a 145-pound bout on the main card portion of UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs. Saint Denis at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, on Sept. 28, 2024.

Joanderson Brito addresses 2024 Brazil floods after UFC victory
Joanderson Brito's most recent fight saw him defeat Jack Shore via second-round TKO at UFC 301 at the Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 4, 2024. Following his anticlimactic stoppage victory against Shore, Brito addressed the floods that affected Brazil at the time.
For context, Brazil faced torrential rains and floods, starting in the latter part of April 2024 and sending the country reeling in its aftermath through May. Per The Guardian, the floods displaced over 580,000 people, forced approximately 70,000 inhabitants into shelters, and many people went missing. It's believed that around 2.3 million people were affected overall.
The PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) alluded to Rio Grande do Sul bearing the calamity's brunt and reportedly witnessing 173 deaths. During his post-fight octagon interview at UFC 301, Joanderson Brito addressed his compatriots and said:
"First, I wanna send a quick message to people of Rio Grande do Sul, the state here in Brazil that is devastated by floods right now. You are all going to win, just like I won. We're all going to win together."
