Where is UFC featherweight Arnold Allen from?

Rising UFC featherweight star Arnold Allen is from Ipswich, England. The Suffolk town is home to 133,384 residents, according to the 2011 census. However, 'Almighty' does most of his training in Colchester at BKK Fighters, which is around 18 miles away from Ipswich.

Allen was born and raised in the Suffolk area and started training martial arts in his early teens. The UFC featherweight fought multiple times in the local Norwich area in amateur MMA contests before turning professional in 2012.

The majority of the 28-year-old's amateur bouts took place under the East Coast Fight Factory banner. He competed three times in the Norwich-based organization. 'Almighty' managed to get the better of Connor Hutchin, Alfi Rafferty, and Chris Thorpe in ECFF.

Since transitioning to the UFC in 2015, Allen has remained unbeaten in the organization and is one of the frontrunners for the next featherweight title shot. However, current champion Alexander Volkanovski is likely to move up to the lightweight division in his next outing. Volkanovski and UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev are both keen on a clash in the 155lbs division.

When quizzed about the featherweight champion's potential move to the lightweight division, Arnold Allen jokingly stated he would move up to 155lbs himself:

"Maybe I will go up to 155lbs as well. This division sucks."

Who was the first fighter to beat Arnold Allen in professional MMA?

'Almighty' had a great start to life as a professional fighter, winning his first seven bouts in professional MMA. However, Marcin Wrzosek ended Allen's unbeaten streak after taking on the Englishman under the Cage Warriors banner.

At Cage Warriors 69 in 2014, the Polish fighter managed to get the better of Arnold Allen on the scorecards after three rounds of fighting in London. Despite tasting defeat for the first time, Allen made his UFC debut against Alan Omer three fights later.
