Alex Pereira has made his presence felt in the UFC with a few impressive wins against top-level opponents.
The former two-division Glory Kickboxing champion made his debut in November last year when he fought Andreas Michailidis on the undercard of UFC 268, Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington 2.
Alex Pereira was spoken of as the only man who could beat Israel Adesanya. 'The Last Stylebender' has completely dominated the middleweight division and fought almost all the top contenders. 'Poatan' was what UFC fans needed, a breath of fresh air into the division with a history against the champion. The Brazilian looked very impressive in his debut.

Andreas Michailidis was well aware of the elite striking skills that 'Poatan' possessed. After the pair exchanged a few punches and kicks, Michailidis looked to take the fight to the ground. The Greek spent the entire first round pressing the Brazilian up against the cage and grappling with him, not letting him free his arms while trying to tire him out at the same time.
The second round started with Pereira pressing the action against Michailidis, who had developed an unexplained bruise above his eye. Seconds into the round, Alex Pereira hit the Greek with a flying knee that dropped him to the ground and then hit him with a few punches to end the fight.
Israel Adesanya reacts to Alex Pereira trolling his training methods
Alex Pereira made a video trolling Israel Adesanya's training method in which he used tennis balls to test his reflexes. The Brazilian's video went viral online with MMA fans loving the 'beef' between the pair.

Pereira's video did not impress the UFC middleweight champion, who compared him to his fellow Brazilian Paulo Costa:
"Even right now bro this n***er giving me f***ing mad (Paulo) Costa vibes bro. Like literally, he did the segway thing or the hoverboard thing, I didn't even know that was a diss at me so I was kinda like, 'Really? Okay, whatever'. And he just recently did the tennis ball thing, I seen that on the gram (Instagram) and I was just like uh huh."
Adesanya is not letting the mind games get to him. He looks like he is a man on a mission, with his objective to destroy his arch-rival. He recently stated that the fight was not even about the belt anymore, it was just about beating Pereira.
