Carlos Castro is considered by many to be one of the biggest rising talents in boxing today. Competing at both featherweight and super bantamweight, the 30-year-old has seen his stock rise in both divisions, picking up the WBC Continental Americas titles in each weight class over the last few years.
Castro is currently preparing for what could be the biggest bout of his career so far, as he is set to take on Stephen Fulton on Sept. 14 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The pair will headline the Prime Video Lead-In Show, essentially opening the card for Canelo Alvarez and Edgar Berlanga, who will face-off later in the evening.

After starting to show signs he may be set to head down the wrong path in life, Castro's father introduced him to the world of boxing around the age of seven. It wasn't long before he soon fell in love with the sport and made the decision early on to dedicate his life to the discipline.
Once of age, Carlos Castro began doing the rounds on the amateur circuit, where he when he opted to represent the United States rather than Mexico. He then eventually made his professional debut in June 2012, winning a four-round unanimous decision bout against Tony Green.
His first professional title came six years later, when he faced off against Alexis Santiago for the vacant WBC-USNBC super bantamweight title. He won the fight via a corner stoppage in the tenth round. That same year, Castro signed a multi-year contract with Bob Arun's Top Rank promotion.
The 30-year-old continued his fine run up until 2022, where he amassed 27 straight victories before suffering his first loss, a split-decision defeat to Luis Nery. Castro then tried bouncing back months later, but was handed a second straight defeat at the hands of Brandon Figueroa.
However, after taking almost a year off following his TKO defeat to Figueroa, Carlos Castro has looked back to his best. He has since faced Alan Isaias Luques Castillo and Angel Luna, winning via knockout, and picked up a unanimous decision win over Belmar Preciado.
As he prepares now for a huge fight this weekend, Castro will step foot in the squared circle with a professional record of 30-2, with 14 knockout wins to his name.
