Danny Garcia is a talented pugilist who had a successful amateur boxing career before making a mark in the paid ranks as well. 'Swift' captured major world championships in two separate weight classes as a professional boxer.
The 36-year-old is a former WBA (Super), WBC, and Ring Magazine super lightweight (aka junior welterweight/light welterweight) champion. He was also regarded as the lineal champion at that weight at one point. Additionally, he's also a former WBC welterweight champion.
Garcia fights revered Cuban-American pugilist, WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara, for the latter's title next. They'll clash on the card headlined by the Canelo Alvarez-Edgar Berlanga Jr. super middleweight championship fight. The event transpires at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A., on Sept. 14, 2024.

Who is Danny Garcia, the boxer with six toes?
Danny Garcia was born on March 20, 1988, to Puerto Rican parents in Philadelphia, U.S.A. His mother is Maritza Garcia and his father is Angel Garcia, both of whom Danny often credits for their unwavering support. Angel is actively involved in his son's boxing career, oftentimes even trading barbs with his son's rivals. He introduced Danny to boxing and has long been his main trainer.
Danny boasts a pro boxing record of 37 wins and three defeats, with 21 victories coming via KO/TKO. He's beheld as a deft knockout artist. He's particularly feared for his 'no look left hook,' which he lands without even looking at his opponent, by feeling and timing the strike.
Back in 2015, Danny Garcia earned significant appreciation for his approach toward the fact that he has an extra appendage. 'Swift' has a sixth toe on his right foot. Upon being questioned whether there was something embarrassing about him or something that would blow people's minds, he stated:
"When I was a little kid, I was embarrassed to tell people I had six toes. I still do have six toes ... Yeah. I got six toes in my right foot ... Yes, sir."
The reporter suggested that they'd like to see it but indicated that Garcia would probably refrain from taking his shoes off to display it. However, the boxing savant agreed to show them his extra appendage. He took off his right shoe and socks and displayed the sixth toe.
Jestingly reiterating how it gives him an advantage inside the squared circle, Garcia said:
"Oh yeah, No doubt. That's why I'm never off balance and I've never been down."

Danny Garcia has been in a long-term relationship with singer, dancer, model, and entrepreneur Erica Mendez. Akin to Garcia, Mendez is an American of Puerto Rican descent and hails from Philadelphia. Mendez is also a nursing professional and social media influencer. She often posts content featuring their daughters Philly Swift Garcia and Palace Star (aka 'Pally').
Furthermore, Garcia's younger sisters are the 'SiAngie Twins' -- twin sisters Sianney Garcia and Angelise Garcia. Incidentally, like Erica Mendez, Garcia's sisters are skilled musicians. The twins are known for their expertise in the pop and hip-hop genres, in addition to being social media influencers.
