Gabriela Fundora has become a rising star in the world of women's boxing, making a name for herself in a remarkably brief span of time. She burst onto the scene last October with a thunderous entrance, delivering a dominant performance against Arely Mucino to seize the IBF flyweight title with a fifth-round knockout.

'Sweet Poison' is poised to defend her title for the second time this Saturday as she faces off against Daniela Asenjo at the Michelob Ultra Arena, located within the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This bout will serve as a key undercard matchup ahead of the highly anticipated main event between Serhii Bohachuk and Vergil Ortiz Jr.

Gabriela Fundora currently holds an undefeated professional record of 13-0, including six knockout victories. But what many fans might not know is that boxing is in her DNA—it's a true family affair.

Who are Gabriela Fundora's parents?

Gabriela Fundora was born in Palm Beach, Florida, in March 2002 into a Mexican family. She laced up her gloves for the first time at the tender age of seven, training under the watchful eye of her father, Freddy Fundora, and aided by her stepmother, Monique, alongside her three brothers.

'Sweet Poison' has no memories of her biological mother, as her parents separated when she was merely an infant. Following a tumultuous divorce, Freddy was granted custody of the children.

Although Freddy never pursued boxing professionally, the sport is a family tradition that runs deep. He learned the craft from his uncle in Cuba and has since passed down his knowledge and passion to his children.

The undefeated IBF flyweight champion isn't the only star in her family—her older brother, Sebastian Fundora, has made an even bigger name for himself in the combat sports world. 'The Towering Inferno' holds the WBC and WBO super welterweight titles and boasts a professional record of 21-1, with 13 of those victories coming by knockout.
