"Who hires these judges?", "Glad Dana acknowledged it" - Fans react to Dana White's post UFC 310 conversation with Alexander Volkov

Alexander Volkov returned to the octagon at UFC 310, suffering a controversial split decision loss to Ciryl Gane. There was plenty of criticism from fans following the result of the bout and UFC CEO Dana White was no different as he voiced his displeasure.

Speaking to 'Drago' immediately after the bout, the promotional frontman claimed that Volkov deserved to get his hand raised, stating:

"You got f**ked. You got f**ked. You got f**ked badly. That was horrible. I don't know what we'll do but we'll try to make it right by you, okay?... I don't know what we'll do but we'll try to make it right by him... I have no idea. The whole f**king arena thought he won the fight... They f**ked that one up bad. I'll talk to you in a little while, okay? I apologize."

Fans shared their reaction to the conversation between White and the No.3-ranked heavyweight. @yungbasediv questioned how the judges are hired:

"Who hires these judges?"

@_SchuZ_ praised the UFC CEO for addressing the result with Volkov after the bout:

"Glad Dana acknowledged it. That was the definition of a robbery last night."

@Olmecwarrior11 believes that nothing will be done:

"Why is there a obvious robbery every card, with Dana confirming that it was a robbery just for him to forget it happened or not do anything about it? In a week he's gonna say Gane won"

@TheCSMatrixer claimed that the reaction of Gane and his team spoke volumes:

"I know fans are quick to say that was a robbery for every close fight but in this case it was actually a robbery. Volkov won at minimum of 2 rounds & they were very easy to score for him. Gane and his teams reaction to getting the decision win said it all, they were surprised"

Alexander Volkov singles out judge Adalaide Byrd following split decision loss

Alexander Volkov voiced his displeasure with the result following his split decision loss to Cirly Gane at UFC 310. The No.3-ranked heavyweight singled out judge Adalaide Byrd, claiming that she does not work on her judging skills.

Speaking to the media at his post-fight press conference, Drago stated:

"The woman who just - I don't know if she works on her own skills to judge the fight, or she just sometimes comes to watch the fights because she likes it, and give the victory wherever she likes. Maybe she liked the body of Ciryl Gane more. I don't know."

It is unclear why Volkov singled out Byrd as judge Junichiro Kamijo also scored the bout for Gane. She does have a history of controversial scorecards, however, and became somewhat of a household name among fight fans in 2017 as she awarded Canelo Alvarez 10 of 12 rounds in his split decision draw against Gennady Golovkin.
