Idris Virgo is set to step back into a boxing ring for the first time in 2024 when he faces Fes Batista on the upcoming Misfits Boxing 18 card. The pay-per-view takes place on Sept 14 at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle.
The pair are set to compete in a semi-final bout of the light heavyweight Pro Stake Tournament, with the winner facing the victor from the other semi-final later that night.
Who is Idris Virgo?
Born in 1993 in Birmingham, England and nicknamed 'The Body Breaker', Virgo began his career as a professional boxer before he opted to branch out and try his hand at influencing. He amassed an undefeated record (10-0-1), with his last professional bout coming in 2021.

Virgo then appeared on season 4 of the hit ITV reality dating show 'Love Island' in 2018 but was unable to find love and was dumped from the show a week after arriving at the Spanish Villa.
With his newfound fame after appearing on the show, Idris Virgo jumped straight back into boxing, looking to make a name in the light heavyweight division.
Whilst he was unable to crack into the professional rankings, Virgo was eventually approached by Misfits at the end of 2022 and offered a multi-fight contract. He then debuted for the promotion in Jan. 2023, defeating Anthony Taylor on the MF & DAZN X Series 4 card.
His second fight came a few months later at MF & DAZN X Series 9, where he faced fellow influencer Aaron Chalmers. Once again, Virgo demonstrated his boxing pedigree by dominating the Geordie Shore star, winning via corner stoppage in the third round.
Idris Virgo labels Fes Batista as "brave" for stepping up to face him
Ahead of his light heavyweight clash against Fes Batista, Idris Virgo and his opponent recently took part in a digital face-off before stepping into the ring.
As Virgo has professional boxing experience, many fans believe his inclusion in the tournament means he has a big advantage over his opponents. The 31-year-old then alluded to that fact whilst chatting with Fes Batista and Misfits Boxing's Ben Davis on YouTube.
According to 'The Body Breaker', Batista is a "brave guy" for stepping into the ring with him. He said:
"He's [Batista] not in my league. I'm in the Premier League and he's in Division 1. He's stepping into my league. He's a brave guy, I've got to admit. He's a brave guy to do what he's doing but foolishness will get you in trouble and right now he's being foolish."
