The origin of Clausius' combat sports training journey is not clear. However, in a July 2021 interview with Leaf Chronicle, the Clarksville native implied that combat sports helped her steer away from a life of crime.
“There are a lot of my peers of mine who are into a lot of things that can get you into some hot water. I knew if I kept going down that path, I was eventually going to be a felon, and I can’t travel the world.” [H/T Leaf Chronicle]
Savage is a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and represents the SSF Submission Academy. She trains MMA at the Gamebred Mixed Martial Arts in Clarkesville. In an interview, Clausius said that her name 'Jenny Savage' was inspired by former pro wrestler Randy Savage, popularly known by his ring name Macho Man.
The 31-year-old fighter has a teenage son named Cayden Beukeman. Her ex-partner and Cayden's father, Richard Beukeman, hit a rough patch during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and ended his life. Savage has been a vocal advocate of mental health awareness since the unfortunate incident. She has used the public platform to shed light on the issue many times.
As of July 2022, Savage was in a relationship with her high school classmate and Gamebred MMA Coach Adrian Thomas. She also hails Thomas as her favorite person to train with.
