Luana Carolina will compete at the upcoming UFC 286 event on March 18. The 29-year-old will take on Joanne Wood in a flyweight encounter.

Luana Carolina is a 29-year-old mixed martial artist from Brazil who competes in the 125-pound division of the UFC.
Carolina made her professional debut back in January 2015. 'Dread' was unsuccessful, losing the strawweight fight via split decision.

The Brazilian then bounced back and built an impressive six-fight win streak, which included a win over Priscila Cachoeira in her promotional debut at UFC 237. Carolina then suffered the second loss of her MMA career in July 2020, when she lost to Ariane Lipski via submission in the first round.
'Dread' turned things around and went on to win her next two bouts against Poliana Botelho and Lupita Godinez. The 29-year-old was then matched up against Molly McCann last March.
Carolina suffered a brutal loss in that fight as McCann viciously knocked her out with a spinning back elbow in the third round. The Brazilian has been out of action since.

Luana Carolina's last fight took place at The O2 arena in London, England. A year later, 'Dread' will compete at the same venue against Joanne Wood at UFC 286.
During media day for the event, Wood was asked for her thoughts on the interesting tidbit regarding Carolina. 'JoJo' replied:
"Yeah, I'm like, 'She's either really brave or she's forgot about what happened.'"

UFC 286 is stacked with exciting matchups. The card will be headlined by a trilogy bout between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman for the welterweight gold.
The co-main event is sure to bring fireworks as the always entertaining Justin Gaethje will take on rising contender Rafael Fiziev in a lightweight scrap. Middleweight contenders Marvin Vettori and Roman Dolidze will also compete on the main card.
Elsewhere, Jennifer Maia will go toe-to-toe with the currently undefeated Casey O'Neill in a flyweight scrap. A welterweight showdown in the form of Gunnar Nelson vs. Bryan Barberena will also feature on the main card of UFC 286.
