Who is Mark Chamberlain?

Mark Chamberlain was born on Jan. 11, 1999, in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Despite having no family history in boxing, Chamberlain’s path into the squared circle started at the age of six when his mother enrolled him and his elder brother, Jaime Chamberlain, in a local boxing club.

Her intention was not to create future professional pugilists but to arm her sons with the skills to defend themselves against bullies.

'Da Boom' made his professional debut in July 2019 after clinching victory in the Senior Elites at just 19 years old. Chamberlain credits his parents as the driving force behind his decision to take his career to the next level, especially as he was uncertain whether to spend another year in the amateur ranks.

The now 25-year-old faced the challenge of juggling a nine-to-five job while training, even working as a plasterer until last year to make ends meet.

What is Mark Chamberlain's boxing record?

Mark Chamberlain currently holds an unblemished professional record of 16-0, with an impressive 12 of those victories coming by way of knockout.

'Da Boom' spent the majority of his career fighting in smaller events, but his fortunes shifted when he landed a spot on the undercard of the Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou fight in Riyadh this past March. Chamberlain made the most of the spotlight, finishing Gavin Gwynne in the fourth round.

Two months later, Chamberlain found himself back under the bright lights of Kingdom Arena, this time on the undercard of the undisputed heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

'Da Boom' delivered a first-round knockout against Joshua Wahab to claim the vacant WBC Silver lightweight title.

Chamberlain also holds the IBF European lightweight title, which he secured with a commanding unanimous decision victory over Marc Vidal in July 2022. The Portsmouth native has since defended the belt successfully on three occasions.

Who is among Mark Chamberlain's coaching staff?

Mark Chamberlain has been training under the guidance of renowned coach Wayne Batten since turning professional. 'Da Boom' also hones his skills, including extensive pad work and other training, at Panters Gym.
