Raul Rosas Jr. burst onto the scene at UFC 282 last year with an electric first-round submission win over Jay Perrin. At just 18 years old, Rosas Jr. is the youngest fighter on the promotion's roster and has been touted as a future UFC champion.
'El Nino Problema' competes at 135 pounds, but the young fighter has his sights set on becoming a three-weight champion. The budding contender hopes to compete at both featherweight and lightweight in the future.
Rosas Jr. has tasted silverware before and was crowned the 136-pound youth MMA world champion by the International MMA Federation in 2019.
While in attendance at the MMA event Fury FC 73 several weeks ago, he stated:

"I'm just getting started, like this is nothing to me. I ain't celebrating nothing yet till I have them three belts around my waist. 135 [pounds], 145 [pounds], 155 [pounds]. Let's go! WOOOOOH!"

Rosas Jr. made his second UFC appearance against fellow unranked fighter Christian Rodriguez. The uber-aggressive Mexican gassed out early in the fight and ended up on the wrong side of a unanimous decision.
Raul Rosas Jr. was signed to the UFC after winning his bout in Dana White's Contender Series in September 2022. He fought in the Ultimate Warrior Challenge prior to that, winning all five of his fights via finish.
'El Nino Problema' has two brothers who compete in MMA. Rosas Jr.'s younger brother, Jessie Rosas, appears eager to follow in his footsteps and reach the UFC.
Kevin Rosas, Raul's elder brother, holds a 1-1 amateur MMA record but was defeated in his professional debut at Fury FC 73.
Raul Rosas Jr. still aims to be the youngest champion in UFC history
Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones holds the record for being the youngest fighter to win a UFC title. While he continues to dominate the upper weight classes and has recently captured the vacant heavyweight title, Raul Rosas Jr. is aiming to break 'Bones's record by taking away the accomplishment.
The loss to Christian Rodriguez highlighted the weaknesses in the 18-year-old's game and proved that he has to make serious improvements before taking on top contenders of the division. But Raul Rosas Jr. is confident in his ability to become the youngest UFC champion in history. While speaking at the UFC Noche Media day, the Mexican fighter stated:
“Everything I’ve said in the past, all the goals I’ve set in the past, nothing has changed. Everything remains the same. I meant everything. If you bring up something I’ve said in the past, I’ll still admit to it. I still think the same way. Nothing has changed.”
