UFC 281: Adesanya vs. Pereira is set to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 12, 2022. The pay-per-view event is stacked with two title matchups and a series of other exciting bouts.

The card will be headlined by a much-anticipated middleweight title showdown between defending champion Israel Adesanya and No.4-ranked Alex Pereira.

The co-headliner of UFC 281 will feature a women's strawweight title showdown between reigning champion Carla Esparza and former titleholder Weili Zhang.

The card will also feature an intriguing lightweight matchup between No.2-ranked contender Dustin Poirier and No.5-ranked Michael Chandler.

Israel Adesanya solidified his place as the middleweight king with a unanimous decision win over Jared Cannonier last time out at UFC 276 in July. The 185-pound champion now looks set to add another huge name to his resume as he takes on his arch-nemesis from his days in kickboxing.

Alex Pereira (6-1)

Alex Pereira scored a vicious first-round knockout win over top middleweight contender Sean Strickland on the same card Adesanya last defended his title. The Brazilian now looks determined to capture the 185-pound title as he makes his fourth octagon appearance on Saturday.

Carla Esparza (19-6)

Carla Esparza will enter UFC 281 looking to make her first title defense. The Californian captured the title by edging out Rose Namajunas this past May.

Zhang Weili (22-3)

Former champion Zhang Weili rebounded from her loss to Rose Namajunas with a vicious knockout win over Joanna Jedrzejczyk back in June. 'Magnum' has made significant improvements over the years and looks determined to recapture the title.

Dustin Poirier (28-7-1NC)

After going unbeaten in three consecutive bouts, Dustin Poirier lost via submission to former champion Charles Oliveira in their title bout last December. 'The Diamond' will seek to return to winning ways when he takes on Michael Chandler this weekend.

Michael Chandler (23-7)

Michael Chandler rebounded from back-to-back defeats to Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje with a vicious knockout of Tony Ferguson at UFC 274 in May. 'Iron' will now aim to get back into title contention when he faces the No.2-ranked Poirier.

Frankie Edgar (24-10-1)

Frankie Edgar will make his 30th walk to the octagon at UFC 281 this Saturday, which is expected to be his final UFC appearance. 'The Answer' has gone 1-4 in his last five outings, suffering consecutive knockout defeats in his last two fights.

Chris Gutierrez (18-4-2)

After an unsuccessful start to his octagon career, Chris Gutierrez has gone unbeaten in his last seven bouts (including a draw). In his most recent UFC appearance, the Texan scored a second-round technical knockout over Batgerel Danaa.

Dan Hooker (21-12)

Dan Hooker suffered a brutal first-round knockout loss at the hands of Arnold Allen at 145-pounds this past March. 'The Hangman' is now gearing up to move back to lightweight and get back to winning ways against Claudio Puelles. Hooker is 1-4 in his last five bouts.

Claudio Puelles (12-2)

Claudio Puelles will enter UFC 281 this Saturday hoping to take down his first big name in the UFC and pick up his sixth consecutive win. The Peruvian has only lost once under the promotional banner.

Brad Riddell (10-3)

Brad Riddell is coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in his pro career. The New Zealander was submitted in the first round last time out in July after getting dispatched with a third-round knockout in December last year.

Renato Moicano (16-5-1)

Renato Moicano has lacked consistency over the past few years, suffering a unanimous decision loss last time out in March. The Brazilian is 3-4 in his last seven bouts with his decision loss to Rafael dos Anjos being the most recent.

Dominick Reyes (12-3)

After going undefeated in his first 12 pro-MMA bouts, Dominick Reyes now finds himself on a three-fight losing skid. Most recently, the Californian was finished by Jiri Prochazka with a vicious second-round knockout.

Ryan Spann (20-7)

Ryan Spann is coming off a first-round submission win over Ion Cutelaba in May. 'Superman' is 2-2 in his last four octagon appearances.

Erin Blanchfield (9-1)

Erin Blanchfield has been on a roll lately with six consecutive victories. 'Cold Blooded' has finished three of those wins.

Molly McCann (13-4)

After dropping back-to-back decisions through 2020-21, Molly McCann got back to winning ways, picking up three straight victories. The Liverpudlian scored a first-round TKO of Hannah Goldy in July after dispatching Luana Carolina via third-round knockout in March.

Andre Petroski (8-1)

Andre Petroski is coming off three straight stoppage wins, with a technical submission victory over Nick Maximov being his latest triumph. The 31-year-old will make his fourth octagon appearance on Saturday, hoping to pick up his fourth straight finish.

Wellington Turman (18-5)

Wellington Turman has gone 3-3 in the UFC banner since joining the promotion back in July 2019. In his most recent outing, the Brazilian submitted Misha Cirkunov with a second-round armbar after edging out Sam Alvey in August 2021.
