UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs. Gamrot (also known as UFC Vegas 79 and UFC Fight Night 228) will take place this Saturday, September 24, with a series of intriguing matchups lined up for MMA fans.
The UFC Vegas 79 card will be headlined by a thrilling lightweight clash between the No.6-ranked contender Rafael Fiziev and Mateusz Gamrot, who is positioned just below the Azerbaijani at No.7.

Rafael Fiziev suffered a hard-fought majority decision loss to former interim lightweight champ Justin Gaethje last time out at UFC 286. 'Ataman' had a six-fight win streak snapped with the defeat. The Azerbaijani will be determined to get back on track as he faces another dangerous opponent at UFC Vegas 79 on the UFC card tonight.
Mateusz Gamrot (22-2-1NC)
Mateusz Gamrot picked up a split decision win over Jalin Turner at UFC 285 in March to rebound from his loss to Beneil Dariush. 'Gamer' has won five of his last six bouts and will look to continue his climb up the 155-pound rankings with a win on the UFC card tonight.
Bryce Mitchell (15-2)
Bryce Mitchell tasted his second career defeat at the hands of Ilia Topuria at UFC 282 in December. 'Thug Nasty' was submitted by Topuria via arm-triangle choke in the second round. The Arkansas native was on a six-fight win streak before that loss with his first career defeat coming against Brad Katona at The Ultimate Fighter Season 27 semi-finals in 2018.
Dan Ige (17-6)
After dropping three consecutive fights through 2021-22, Dan Ige picked up back-to-back wins this year. The Hawaiian knocked out Damon Jackson in January before outpointing Nate Landwehr at UFC 289 in June.
Marina Rodriguez (16-3-2D)
Marina Rodriguez finds herself on a two-fight skid after compiling a four-fight win streak through 2021-22. In her latest outing in May, the Brazilian was outpointed by Virna Jandiroba.
Michelle Waterson-Gomez (18-11)
Michelle Waterson-Gomez is on a three-fight skid and 1-5 in her last six outings. 'The Karate Hottie's' last win inside the octagon came in 2020 over Angela Hill via split decision.
Bryan Battle (9-2)
Bryan Battle had his seven-fight win streak come to a halt in a decision loss to Rinat Fakhretdinov last December. However, the North Carolina native rebounded in impressive fashion, scoring a first-round knockout of Gabriel Green in May.
A.J. Fletcher (10-2)
A.J. Fletcher had a 0-2 start to his UFC career last year, dropping back-to-back decisions to Matthew Semelsberger and Ange Loosa. However, the Louisiana native submitted Themba Gorimbo in February and will look to build a win streak with a victory on the UFC card tonight.

Miles Johns is coming off a unanimous decision win over Vince Morales last November. 'Chapo' is 3-2 in his last five trips to the octagon.
Tim Means (32-15-1D-1N)
Tim Means is on a three-fight skid with two of those defeats coming via submission. The 39-year-old veteran will hope to get his winning engine running when he faces another struggling opponent on the UFC card tonight.
Andre Fialho (16-7-1NC)
Much like his opponent, Andre Fialho is 0-3 in his last three trips to the octagon. The Portuguese fighter was finished in all of those defeats and is in dire need of a win this weekend.

Jacob Malkoun is fresh off a unanimous decision win over Nick Maximov last October. The Australian is 3-2 under the UFC banner.

Cody Brundage is 0-3 in his last three outings, including two stoppages. The Michigan native was most recently outpointed by Sedriques Dumas in June.
Mohammed Usman (9-2)
Mohammed Usman will be aiming for his third straight win in the UFC when he takes on Jake Collier on the UFC card tonight. In his last octagon appearance in April, 'The Motor' edged out a unanimous decision win over Junior Tafa.
Jake Collier (13-9)
Jake Collier is on a three-fight skid and 2-5 in his last seven bouts. 'The Prototype' most recently dropped a decision to Martin Buday in April and is in dire need of a win on the UFC card tonight.

Tamires Vidal (7-1)
Tamires Vidal impressed in her UFC debut in November, dispatching Ramona Pascual via first-round TKO. The Brazilian picked up her second straight finish and sixth consecutive win with that performance. Vidal will hope to keep her win streak going as she welcomes an unbeaten newcomer on the UFC card tonight.
