UFC once again had a successful year, continuing its upward trajectory by delivering fights that MMA fans were eager to see, and the promotion will be looking to do the same in 2025.

The promotion has revealed the top five best-selling fighters on the UFC Store, and surprisingly, reigning lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and featherweight champion Ilia Topuria did not make the list.

Topping the list is the current light heavyweight titleholder, Alex Pereira. Pereira defended his title three times this year, finishing his opponents in all three bouts. Max Holloway secured the second spot, following his iconic last-second knockout against Justin Gaethje at UFC 300.

Below Holloway is former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, who fought twice this year, including a title fight against Makhachev. Coming in at No. 4 is former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley, who also competed twice this year. In his most recent bout, he was dethroned by Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306.

At No. 5 is Jon Jones, widely considered as the greatest fighter of all time. After coming off an injury, he faced Stipe Miocic in his first heavyweight title defense at UFC 309. Jones secured a victory with a spinning back kick to the body, winning by KO/TKO in the third round.

Dana White reveals promotion's plans for next year, teases "biggest fight in UFC history"

Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, UFC head honcho Dana White revealed that 2024 was a record year for the promotion and shared plans to explore new territories in 2025.

White said:

"[2024] was a record year for us again… Not only as far as financially for the company but [also] breaking arena records.Next year my focus is to go to a lot of places that we haven't been in a while or ever. [We're] trying to get into Spain, we've never done Spain. We're going back to LA at the beginning of the year. Going to Seattle again, probably going to hit Chicago and some of these other places we haven't been in a while."

White also mentioned the possibility of a title unification bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, stating:

"[Jon Jones] has never said behind the scenes, 'I won't fight Tom Aspinall.' It's the exact opposite… Jones is like 37 [or] 38 years old now, has these huge gaps in between fights, he is not afraid to fight Tom Aspinall. He will fight Aspinall and it will be the biggest fight in UFC history."
