Controversial internet personality Andrew Tate believes he's been misrepresented by the mainstream media amidst his jail time being extended once again.
Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested on December 29 last year whilst at one of their residences in Romania. The pair were picked up in a police probe and have been accused of rape, human trafficking, and conspiring to form a criminal group. Both 'Cobra' and his brother have maintained their innocence, stating that there is a lack of evidence. However, the Romanian government has continued to keep them in jail whilst investigations continue.
Prior to his arrest, Andrew Tate gained mainstream notoriety online after multiple clips of him went viral. Often in the clips, Tate would be making controversial statements regarding the roles of women and men in society, which has painted him as a misogynist in the eyes of the media.

Whilst still in jail, Tate's Twitter account is still active and one of his posts recently addressed misconceptions about him. According to Tate, he believes some in society have the wrong idea about him because he's "scary":
"I understand and intrisically believes one of the reasons people think I'm such a bad person is because I'm scary. I'm big, I'm aggressive when I talk, I live in Romania, I'm a fighter...I literally think people look at me and go 'Woah, that's a bad guy.' I look like a bad guy!"

Andrew Tate's lawyer speaks after bail rejection
Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been detained in a Romanian jail cell since their arrest last December. Romanian law dictates that criminals can only be held for up to 30 days before being charged, however, they have regularly extended the brother's detainment for 30-day stretches.
At the end of March, 'Cobra' will be facing yet another month inside his cell after the Romanian court once again extended his incarceration as well as denying him bail once again.
Eugen Vidineac, a lawyer for the Tate brothers, recently put out a statement in response to their denied appeal. According to Vidineac, the courts' continual reluctance to free the brothers is "illegal":
"At first sight, the court’s decision is illegal because the inadmissibility principle concerns a question of the impossibility of the judicial act, a principle that cannot be applied in this case."
Speaking to the BBC, Vidineac added:
"In all the volumes of the file, you never find one piece of paper with pornographic content to sustain the theory that [the women] were obliged to post pornographic content."
