Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested along with two female associates in Romania last December on allegations of rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal organization.

While they were initially detained for 24 hours, a request from the investigation agency for a 30-day extension was granted by the court. The court in Bucharest has since consistently granted requests for Tate's extended detention, recently turning down 'Top G's appeal to change it to judicial control.

A recent report by spynews.ro has now revealed the rumored reasons for the court's rejection of Tate's appeal. According to the report, the Romanian prison only allows inmates to talk to the people they have been given permission to talk to.

But like many before him, Andrew Tate tried to exploit a loophole by connecting to people he wasn't permitted to, via conference calls. Basically, 'Cobra' would tell people from his allowed list to patch him through to anyone he wanted to talk to.

What Tate didn't know, however, is that the authorities seemingly monitor these conversations. Apart from catching him breaking the rules, the authorities are also rumored to have overheard 'Top G' discussing his plans to bribe someone once he gets judicial control.

Is Andrew Tate likely to be released soon?

Andrew Tate's preventive arrest was recently extended for another 30 days, this being the fourth extension. While Tate is expected to appeal this extension as well, he has lost all three previous appeals.

Tate's lawyer, Tina Glandian, who has worked with the likes of Mike Tyson and Kanye West, recently provided an update on the potential timeline of the detention. As per Glandian, the Romanian authorities have detained Andrew Tate without any formal indictment and may continue to do so for a total of 180 days. Glandian recently told Tucker Carlson on Fox News:

"They arrested them [the Tate brothers] at the end of December and initially, it was a 24-hour arrest and then, the prosecution made an application for a 30-day extension which was granted. And last month, they sought a further 30-day extension that was granted and most recently, that was extended again until the end of March. And they have up to 180 days in which they could extend this detention without formally charging them with any crimes. So, it's an ongoing criminal investigation but they are detained." h/t Sportskeeda
