On December 2, the Twitter account 'UFC Roster Watch' revealed that Darrick Minner has been cut from the UFC roster. The fighter's removal comes shortly after it was announced that his previous fight was under investigation for a possible betting scandal.
Minner was the underdog going into his most recent fight against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke at UFC Fight Night 214. However, according to a report by BJPENN.COM, there was an influx of money on Nuerdanbieke to win by first-round knockout just before the fight.
Sure enough, early in the round, Minner threw a leg kick following which he fell down in pain, enabling the Chinese national to clinch an easy TKO victory.

The event led to UFC betting lines being removed from various Canadian provinces, including Alberta and Ontario.
Minner's coach James Krause, who has been involved in sports betting in the past, is also under investigation in relation to the bout.
As the Nevada State Athletic Commission launched an investigation into the suspected bout, the promotion announced that fighters involved with Krause would not be allowed to participate in any future UFC events.
As per the UFC Athlete Conduct Policy, fighters signed to the company, along with their managers and coaches, are prohibited from betting on any fight taking place under the promotion's banner.
What is Darrick Minner's UFC record?
Even excluding his suspected involvement in the recent betting scandal, Darrick Minner's UFC career has been far from ideal.
The American holds a lackluster promotional record of two wins against four losses. In his UFC debut, Minner succumbed to a second-round submission loss to Grant Dawson.

At the time of his removal from the UFC roster, the fighter was on a three-fight losing streak. Moreover, three of his four losses in the UFC have come by finishes.
The 32-year-old holds an unflattering overall mixed martial arts record of 26 wins against 14 losses. Minner also lost his only fight in Dana White's Contender Series.
However, the fighter has held an MMA title in the past. In 2018, Darrick Minner was crowned the Dynasty Combat Sports featherweight champion when he beat Joey Munoz at DCS:41.
