Mayssa Bastos continued training and competing following her title-winning performance against Danielle Kelly.
Four months ago, Bastos made her dream come true by becoming the new ONE women's atomweight submission grappling world champion. Most fighters will take some time off to celebrate after winning a major title, but the Brazilian superstar quickly returned to action by competing in ADCC.
Later this week, Bastos will face Kelly in an immediate rematch, concluding her busy schedule over the last few months. During an interview with ONE, the 27-year-old world champion had this to say about her continuous training:
"After the first fight against her, I fought in the ADCC and now I have this new fight against Danielle. So I haven't stopped training. My expectations are very high to win better and fight better than I did in the first fight."

Bastos first competed in ONE Championship in March, defeating Kanae Yamada by unanimous decision. The nine-time IBJJF world champion later became the first person to defeat Kelly in the promotion, adding a significant accomplishment to her already impressive resume.
Kelly entered her world title defense against Bastos with a promotional record of 3-0-1. The American superstar was coming off one of the biggest wins of her career against Bastos before suffering the setback at ONE Fight Night 24.
Mayssa Bastos plans to silence any doubts about first matchup with Danielle Kelly
A thin margin decided the first meeting between Mayssa Bastos and Danielle Kelly, as both fighters had their moments. Following her title-losing performance, Kelly claimed she deserved to have her hand raised, leading to the immediate rematch.
At ONE Fight Night 26, Bastos can further prove she's the best women's atomweight grappler on the plenty. Meanwhile, Kelly plans to avenge her lone promotional defeat to set up a must-see trilogy bout.
ONE Fight Night 26 will take place inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America can watch Friday's event live and for free as it happens in US Primetime.
