Sharaputdin Magomedov's thoughts on how an 'MVP' fight could play out
In a separate interview with the aforementioned Red Corner MMA, Sharaputdin Magomedov was asked to pick between two potential opponents in terms of who he would want most for his next UFC outing.
The two fighters in question in this hypothetical scenario were Paulo Costa and Michael 'Venom' Page. Magomedov picked the latter option with part of his logic being that he sees Costa as someone who has a history of pulling out of fights.
The 30-year-old also took time to dismantle this idea that he would lean into a more grappling-focused approach to defeat Page if the two were to ever fight someday. Magomedov seemed respectful toward 'MVP' calling him a cool dude and saying that would be an exciting contest if it ever transpired.
'Bullet' stated that he would never throw away his game plan for Page and seems supremely confident in a striking battle with anyone on the UFC's roster.
The native of Russia ordinarily competes at middleweight while Page has historically been a welterweight which is likely why the discourse around this fight report has been underpinned by excitement as well as surprise. Magomedov's last fight at UFC 308 saw him win by way of a double spinning back fist.
The timing of that incredible win could coincide nicely with a firefight against someone with the kind of striking-centric highlight reel that 'MVP' has. The MMA world will be collectively waiting for official confirmation on this contest on the heels of this report coming out.
