Jon Jones claps back at Colby Covington post-UFC Tampa
Jon Jones and Colby Covington are no strangers to exchanging barbs between one another. This trend continued following the latter taking a loss on the final UFC event of the calendar year.
In the lead-up to his fight with Joaquin Buckley which he eventually would lose via TKO, Covington hurled expletives at the reigning UFC heavyweight champion at pre-fight media engagements and went as far as to call Jones a disgrace to this earth.
After losing to Buckley, Covington made unusual claims that he did not train enough and was instead aiding Donald Trump's presidential campaign. 'Chaos' added he got off the couch to take this fight to help the UFC.
Meanwhile, Jones to X to mock Covington, giving a big shout-out to the former interim welterweight champion for skipping training to get President Trump ready. Jones continued the sarcasm by thanking Covington for the sacrifice and ending the post by saying at least Trump got to see Jones win when he finished Stipe Miocic at UFC 309.
The Rochester native had a pair of additional posts laughing at what he sees as perpetual excuse-making from Covington when he loses.
