Jozef Chen believes he'll cross paths with Tye Ruotolo in the future.
Returning to the iconic Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, July 5, Ruotolo will welcome the 19-year-old newcomer when the two compete in a catchweight clash at ONE Fight Night 23 on Prime Video.
Catching up with the promotion ahead of his highly anticipated debut, Chen suggested that ONE Fight Night 23 will be just the first of many meetings between himself and the 21-year-old Ruotolo.

“I mean, he’s very young," Chen said. "I think he’s a bit older than me, but I assume in our careers, it won’t be the only time we cross paths. So I think it’s a great opportunity for me to test a lot of the stuff I’ve been working on.”
Chen goes into his promotional premiere with a slew of impressive accolades, including first-place finishes at the IBJJF Asian Championships and the ADCC European Trials in 2023.
Tye Ruotolo ready to put it on Jozef Chen at ONE Fight Night 23
As impressive as Jozen Chen has looked in his young career, the South African sensation has not yet faced an opponent as dangerous on the mat as Tye Ruotolo.
Ruotolo goes into the contest with a perfect 6-0 record in ONE Championship, including noteworthy wins against the likes of Garry 'The Lion Killer' Tonon, former two-division titleholder Reinier de Ridder, and lightweight standout Dagi Arslanaliev.
He captured the ONE welterweight submission grappling world championship with a dominant decision victory over Magomed Abdulkadirov at ONE Fight Night 16.
He has since followed up that performance with a sub-five-minute submission victory over Aussie standout Izaak Michell in April.
Will Ruotolo bag another big win on martial arts' biggest global stage, or will the South African sensation deliver a memorable debut and take Ruotolo's 'O' inside the Mecca of Muay Thai?
ONE Championship fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 23 live and for free via Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, July 5.
