Freddie Haggerty always knew he had the heart of a fighter. But turning that belief into reality required grit, determination, and an unwavering will to chase his dream.

Now, the 20-year-old British phenom is set to do what he loves most this Friday, January 24, at ONE 170. There, he will figure in a flyweight Muay Thai showdown against promotional newcomer Jordan Estupinan, battling in front of a sold-out crowd at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ahead of this crucial matchup, Haggerty took to Instagram to reflect on the journey that led him here.

The road wasn’t easy. His parents initially resisted the idea of him following in the footsteps of his older brother, Jonathan Haggerty, in pursuit of a career as a prizefighter.

But with time, they accepted his path — one that he has proven to be worth every sacrifice:

“From a young age, I have always been a performer. From the age of 7 to 8, performing in sold-out theaters in the West End and acting to begging my parents to just let me fight. To now performing in sold-out arenas on the other side of the world doing something completely different.”

Nothing came easy for Haggerty. He first made waves in January 2024, dismantling Dankalong Sor Dechapan with a dominant second-round knockout.

Six months later, he suited up for action, silencing a hostile crowd in Thailand with a stunning first-round finish of local favorite Kaichon Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang.

Haggerty’s momentum only grew stronger. Before 2024 ended, he added another highlight-reel victory to his resume, dispatching Kaoklai Chor Hapayak.

This streak of electrifying knockouts has earned him a spot on ONE Championship’s upcoming marquee event on Friday. And for Haggerty, there’s no other place he’d rather be:

“I have truly found myself within such a beautiful yet violent sport, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

Freddie Haggerty to sustain his momentum at ONE 170

With his unbeaten streak in the organization on the line, Freddie Haggerty is ready to make another statement — this time, at the expense of Jordan Estupinan:

“2024 was just a warm-up. 2025, the best is yet to come. 4–0!”

On the other hand, his brother — Jonathan Haggerty — is slated to report for duty next month. 'The General' will stake his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship against Wei Rui in the main event of ONE 171, taking place at the Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar on February 20.

The Haggerty siblings are looking at the prospect of beginning their 2025 campaign with back-to-back victories.
