“You have to be careful” - Kulabdam recalls how he survived brutal early knockdown from John Lineker

Things looked grim early on for Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in his catchweight Muay Thai battle with John Lineker at ONE Fight Night 27 last Jan. 10.

Less than a minute into the match, the Thai heavy-hitter saw himself staring at the arena headlights after receiving one of Lineker's signature uppercuts.

After shaking off the cobwebs, Kulabdam valiantly stood up and continued to fight.

In his ONE Fight Night 27 post-fight Interview, the 26-year-old admitted it's hard to stick to the gameplan after being on the receiving end of a brutal shot from the legendary Brazilian headhunter.

'Left Meteorite' explained:

"I got knocked down in the first round. So that's why, you know, you have to be careful when it's a bit more difficult to carry on the game and expect to win it."

While Lineker undoubtedly took the opening frame after that knockdown, Kulabdam remained patient and picked his shots better in the ensuing rounds.

The Sor Jor Piek Uthai standout used his mastery of 'The Art of Eight Limbs' by employing punch-kick combos to stay away from Lineker's power side.

Kulabdam also found success in close, as he punished Lineker with elbows at close range.

In the end, the judges favored the Thai's varied attacks and awarded him the unanimous decision nod despite the rough start.

Kulabdam gives his two cents on Nico Carrillo vs Nabil Anane

Kulabdam's stock definitely rose after beating a former bantamweight MMA world champion.

'Left Meteorite' will certainly tune in on the interim bantamweight Muay Thai battle between ranked contenders Nico Carrillo and Nabil Anane in less than two weeks at ONE 170.

In the same interview, Kulabdam shared his thoughts on the match-up, since he knows a few more wins could set him up on a collision course with the winner.

"I think it would be a fun and entertaining fight for sure. And I think maybe it will not last five rounds. I think it's fifty-fifty."

ONE 170 will take place at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Jan. 24.
