Jarred Brooks is not the kind of competitor who backs down from challenges and is always looking to test himself. The American has proven this during his short time as a member of ONE Championship's strawweight MMA roster.
'The Monkey God' has consistently called for the biggest tests out there for him and tends to rise to the occasion. Brooks even looked to test himself against one of the best grapplers on the planet when he challenged Mikey Musumeci for the ONE flyweight submission grappling world championship.
The interim strawweight champ has also spoken about making the jump over into striking for a super fight at some stage. In a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, he spoke about his current stance regarding Muay Thai and kickboxing being in his future.
Brooks said that this would be a big jump for him so it's not a decision that he would make lightly:

"I love Muay Thai and kickboxing. But those are going to be some tricky situations, it's going to be real fighters where you are in danger of everything and losing everything."
Jarred Brooks has enough on his plate right now
Jarred Brooks appeared to be on his way to cleaning out the strawweight division after he became the world champion at ONE 164 in 2022. However, things changed in his rematch with Joshua Pacio earlier this year where he lost his title due to a disqualification.
After claiming the interim title with a submission win over Gustavo Balart, he's now hoping to unify the belts once Pacio returns from his injury.
For now, his plans remain at strawweight and conquer this division once and for all by taking back what he believes should still be his.
Any chance of seeing him compete in kickboxing or Muay Thai is on hold for the time being.
