Islam Makhachev may not be the author of his posts on X after Ali Abdelaziz's recent blunder on the platform seemed to expose him as the man behind his fighters' accounts.
There has long been a theory that Abdelaziz wrote the social media posts for his fighters. The MMA manager even admitted to doing so for Khabib Nurmagomedov during the Dagestani's early career, when his English was still poor.
But Abdelaziz's recent post seems to indicate that he may run Makhachev's account at present. The Egyptian came across a post online of Charles Oliveira's coach claiming that the lightweight champion is avoiding a rematch with 'do Bronx'.
The MMA manager responded with the following:

"He's probably going to lose to Arman and still I'm not gonna have to run."
Abdelaziz's apparent blunder was ridiculed by fans, with @xavier_ratio writing this:
"Forgot to change accounts rat boy. You embarrass yourself and your fighters."
See the other fan reactions below:
"You forgot to switch to Islam's acc"
"Charles is the people's champ, they will regret provoking"
"Forgot to switch accounts embarrassing"
"Wrong account, btw how's noah?"
"Ain't no way he actually forgot to change accounts."

Charles Oliveira's coach may believe that Islam Makhachev is avoiding a rematch with 'do Bronx'. But the lightweight champion's recent announcement that he would like to fight the winner of Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyuan, set for UFC 300, tells a different tale.
Justin Gaethje deserves to fight Islam Makhachev next, says Ali Abdelaziz
Islam Makhachev's next fight is yet to be announced, but the Dagestani recently voiced his interest in facing Justin Gaethje in June.
Gaethje's manager, as well as the co-manager of Makhachev – Ali Abdelaziz – has also shared his interest in a clash between the pair. Abdelaziz believes that 'The Highlight' is the lightweight contender most deserving of a title shot, following superb victories over Rafael Fiziev at UFC 286 and Dustin Poirier at UFC 291 in 2023.
Ali Abdelaziz was recently interviewed by ESPN MMA, where he said this:
"I think it's obvious, man... Justin Gaethje's a guy [that] never wants something to be given to him. He earned it with sweat and blood and tears inside the cage. Islam Makhachev, very interested to fighting him... He said, 'Doesn't matter who, when, and how. I'll fight anybody they give me.' Justin Gaethje has earned it and Islam really excited about fighting him."
