“You have to find your passion” - Janet Todd’s message to the younger generation

At ONE on Prime Video 5, Janet Todd has the opportunity to reach another milestone in her career. The current atomweight kickboxing and interim Muay Thai world champion will face the returning Allycia Hellen Rodrigues with a chance to unify the belts and become a fully-fledged multi-sport world champion.

The California native made a huge impact on her ONE debut back in February 2019, dethroning Stamp Fairtex to become the atomweight kickboxing world champion.

In Allycia Hellen Rodrigues’ absence, Todd fought for the interim title this past July, winning a unanimous decision against Spain’s Lara Fernandez.

In an interview with Calf Kick Sports, Todd spoke about the keys to the success she has had in her career with some words of wisdom for young people who may be embarking down a similar path to her own:

“For me, you have to find your passion. If you find your passion you’ll be willing to make those sacrifices, be willing to fall down, get scraped up, and get back up. If it’s something that you’re passionate about, you don’t want to give up. I think that’s what got me where I am today. Man, there’s been many scrapes and tears, and blood along the way but it’s so worth it. The type of things you discover about yourself. The confidence and the things that you’re capable of. It not only helps you in the sport but it affects other areas of life. Even in my work.”

WATCH: Janet Todd showcases prime speed ahead of world title unification against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues

At ONE on Prime Video 5, interim atomweight Muay Thai world champion Janet Todd will get the chance to unify the division against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, the reigning atomweight Muay Thai world champion who's back from her maternity leave.

Her opponent, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues has been out of competition for over two years. After defeating Stamp Fairtex in her ONE debut, Rodrigues took time away from the sport to focus on her family and give birth to her son.

As she returns to the division, the atomweight champion will do so with a new set of challengers waiting for her. Ahead of Rodrigues’ return to competition, ONE Championship has posted a video of her opponent showcasing her speed on the heavy bag:
