Paddy Pimblett was disappointed with Renato Moicano's performance against Islam Makhachev.

At UFC 311, the main event took an unexpected turn during the fight week due to Arman Tsarukyan pulling out with a back injury.

As a result, No.10-ranked Moicano, initially scheduled to face Beneil Dariush at the same event, accepted a short-notice opportunity to challenge Makhachev for the lightweight world title.

Moicano attempted to make history by pulling off an upset against Makhachev. Unfortunately for him, Makhachev extended his impressive lightweight title reign with a first-round submission (D'arce choke).

No.13-ranked Paddy Pimblett posted a video of his live reaction to the UFC 311 main event and had this to say during the fight-ending sequence:

"Moicano is trying to work his way up. Does he give his neck? It's over. You f*cking tapped that quick Renato? Go asleep lad, go out on your shield. F*cking hate that, you know? You're in a f*cking choke lad, you're not going to snap your neck. Go asleep... That was too easy. Like he half gave him the sub lad. I thought that Renato would put up more of a fight than that lad."

Pimblett added the following caption to his Instagram post:

"Credit to Renato for stepping up on 24hrs notice but come on brother your never going to get that opportunity again atleast go out on your shield and go to sleep 🙄"

Before signing on to fight Beneil Dariush, Renato Moicano was featured in rumors for a potential fight against Paddy Pimblett. The matchup ultimately didn't materialize, making it unclear who Pimblett will face in the octagon next.

Mateusz Gamrot voices interest in fighting Paddy Pimblett

Paddy Pimblett is one of the UFC lightweight division's biggest superstars, even though he's ranked outside the top ten. Last month, number eight-ranked Mateusz Gamrot responded to a fan on X and called out Pimblett for a potential matchup:

"Sounds great @PaddyTheBaddy ready?"

Paddy Pimblett's last Octagon appearance showcased a first-round submission win against Bobby Green in July 2024. The performance-bonus winning finish extended Pimblett's promotional record to 6-0, including four wins inside the distance.

Meanwhile, Mateusz Gamrot last fought in August 2024 when his three-fight winning streak was ended due to a split decision loss against Dan Hooker.
