UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones appears to have confused MMA fans, after his latest tweet has led to more questions than answers.
'Bones' is still currently sidelined with the same pectoral tear that kept him out of his UFC 295 clash against Stipe Miocic. The pair are still expected to face-off before the end of 2024, with reports suggesting the UFC is looking at either a November or December pay-per-view.
Jones' time recovering hasn't been without its drama, however, as many have been calling for him to instead face Tom Aspinall on his return, rather than Miocic. 'Two Pints' won the interim heavyweight belt when he and Sergei Pavlovich stepped in on short notice for UFC 295, with the British fighter knocking out the Russian in the first round.

Dustin Poirier wants to see Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira
Dustin Poirier has revealed the opponent he'd like to see Jon Jones face next, and it's not Stipe Miocic or Tom Aspinall.
Whilst Jones waits to recover from his injury, he is expected to return to the octagon and defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic. Although Tom Aspinall has been calling for his shot and will likely be waiting in the wings for the winner, Poirier believes the fight to make is Jones vs. Alex Pereira.
'Poatan' has regularly expressed an interest in stepping up a division in order to become the first fighter to win a title in three different weight classes. Jones has also appeared interested in the fight.
Poirier then discussed the potential match-up during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, revealing that he believes it's the "perfect" time to lock the fight in. He said:
"I want to see him [Pereira] versus Jon Jones at heavyweight. Jones is a lot bigger, longer. Jones has never been knocked out... Jones is not gonna play the game with him. He's too smart... It's the perfect time for it."
