The competitive tension between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia persists unabated despite allegations of battery and threats of counter-legal action. Haney filed a lawsuit against Garcia in New York accusing his rival of fraud and breach of contract.
The lawsuit, stemming from their controversial fight in April, accuses Garcia of unjust enrichment, claiming he gained an unfair advantage. Garcia originally won the bout but the result was later declared a no-contest due to 'King Ry' testing positive for the banned substance ostarine.
Most recently, Haney's father gave Garcia an ultimatum for their potential rematch on X, writing:
"We don’t duck fights or lawsuits @RyanGarcia. You got 48 hours to enroll in VADA [The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association] for the rematch. Clean competition, real standards. We’re always ready—are you? @Realdevinhaney stays focused, lawsuit or not. #NoExcuses #RealChampions #VADA #Rematch #TeamHaney"

The fate of Ryan Garcia's next fight remains to be seen, considering the controversy surrounding his positive drug test and the subsequent one-year ban. Garcia’s weight infractions, along with his dominant performance, which was later overturned, have only fueled interest in a rematch within the boxing community.
According to boxing analysts, despite the bad blood between the pair, the rematch seems to be a lucrative deal for both fighters and the sport to pass up. Industry experts, on the other hand, assert that the ongoing lawsuit could lead to a settlement that includes a rematch with Haney.
Ryan Garcia claims he's getting ready for a rematch against Devin Haney
Ryan Garcia seems determined to close the chapter on recent controversies and settle his long-standing rivalry with Devin Haney.
Garcia squared off against Haney in April and won the fight by majority decision. However, the result was later ruled a no-contest after Garcia tested positive for ostarine. The 26-year-old's personal life has been equally challenging with concerns about mental health, reports of threats of domestic violence against his wife, and a viral racist rant on social media that led to him being expelled from the WBC (World Boxing Council).
'King Ry' claimed in a recent appearance on the YouTube channel Cool Kicks, that he's "training every day" to be ready for a potential rematch against Haney. He said:
"We [are] training every day. We got to be ready so when Devin Haney wants that fight again. We already beat his a*s one time. If we do it twice, no debating anymore. I beat his a*s like he stole something. The weigh-in and the day of the fight, he was a pound heavier than me. So there’s no excuse. He also took 1.5 million dollars because I missed weight. Once you take the money, shut the f*** up."
