The former ONE atomweight MMA world champion Angela Lee found herself in a unique spot very early on in her career.

Very early on in her journey through mixed martial arts, she signed to ONE Championship and made her debut all the way back in 2015.

After earning five consecutive submission wins in less than a year, she found herself fighting for the world championship after still only making her pro debut less than one full year before.

This meant that after winning the atomweight MMA title, the young champion was being forced to learn on the job.

With MMA being a sport that is constantly changing day-by-day, evolution is key but as she found out, sometimes you need to experience certain things in order to learn from those moments.

During a recent podcast interview with ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson, she spoke about how experience cannot be bought when it comes to the top level of this sport:

"Honestly the fight game, it's gonna keep going. It's the scene, right? [The] next generation of fighters and things like that. But this kind of valuable information, it's stuff that you don't learn until you experience it and went through it."

Angela Lee was able to remain at the top through skill alone

Opening her ONE Championship account with nine consecutive wins and just two decision victories, we may never see anyone quite like Angela Lee ever again.

In nearly every fight in her career, she was outmatched when it came to experience but the atomweight queen had the skills to back it up.

Her instant trajectory meant that she was constantly having to think on her feet and adapt to the moment. They didn't call her 'Unstoppable' for no reason.

The former champ will forever be one of the most significant fighters in the history of ONE Championship and the fact that she did it all whilst still learning only makes it more impressive.
