“You have to pay attention” - Alyona Rassohyna says she can’t allow Denice Zamboanga to get her boxing rhythm 

Alyona Rassohyna provided general insight into her game plan against Denice Zamboanga.

In mid-2024, women's atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex suffered a torn meniscus while training. The Thai megastar is nearing a return to action, so ONE Championship will utilize an interim atomweight MMA title to determine her next opponent.

On Friday, Jan. 10, No. 2-ranked Zamboanga and No. 4-ranked Rassohyna will battle for partial ownership of Stamp's throne.

Rassohyna recently appeared in an interview for her upcoming matchup at ONE Fight Night 27. The Ukrainian atomweight MMA contender had this to say for general insight about how she's approaching her fight against Zamboanga:

"I think Denice is good in both the stand-up and [on the ground]. She's well-rounded. You have to pay attention to her far arm. She's an accentuated long-arm hitter."

Heading into ONE Fight Night 27, Zamboanga has won three consecutive fights against Lin Heqin, Julie Mezabarba, and Noelle Grandjean. She now looks to solidify an undisputed world title shot by defeating Alyona Rassohyna.

ONE Fight Night 27 will take place inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Friday's event can be seen live in US Primetime free for Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.

Alyona Rassohyna pursuing trilogy fight against Stamp Fairtex

Alyona Rassohyna made her ONE Championship debut in February 2021, quickly making an impact with a third-round submission win against Stamp Fairtex. Seven months later, they fought for a second time, with Stamp avenging her previous defeat with a split decision.

Rassohyna has not returned to action since her rematch with Stamp in September 2021. Therefore, she plans to defeat Denice Zamboanga at ONE Fight Night 27 and face Stamp in a must-see trilogy bout later this year.

Meanwhile, Zamboanga also has a history with Stamp as a close friend and former training partner. Zamboanga was scheduled to face Stamp in a world title fight last year before the latter suffered her torn meniscus injury.

Rassohyna and Zamboanga have equal motivation to secure another fight against Stamp. Firstly, they must be focused on winning their upcoming interim title bout at ONE Fight Night 27.
