Jiri Prochazka made a powerful statement at UFC 311 by unveiling his newly shaved head, a gesture inspired by Ashly McGarity, a fan battling cervical cancer. McGarity, who had lost her hair due to chemotherapy, posted a picture of her hairstyle, which was a tribute to Prochazka’s iconic "war braid."
The photo went viral, catching the attention of the Czech fighter, who was moved by her story. Prochazka reached out to McGarity and invited her to UFC 311, offering her a seat in the Intuit Dome to watch his fight against Jamahal Hill. The former UFC light heavyweight champion also got her on stage for the ceremonial weigh-ins.
Prochazka explained that shaving his head was a way to show solidarity and send positive energy to McGarity, who is undergoing cancer treatments. The gesture of support went further as Prochazka pledged a significant donation to cancer patients through his foundation and UFC CEO Dana White matched his donation.

Jiri Prochazka asserts that he can beat Alex Pereira despite two losses
Jiri Prochazka remains confident in his ability to reclaim the light heavyweight title, believing that he can defeat current champion Alex Pereira. Despite setbacks, including injuries and two losses to Pereira, Prochazka has never doubted his potential.
He acknowledges the challenges but sees them as opportunities for growth. With the lessons learned from his past setbacks, Prochazka feels he is now equipped to avenge his losses and reassert himself as champion. Speaking in an interview with UFC, Prochazka said:
“I've been saying to everyone, believe me or not, but I believe I can beat Alex. I can be the champion again and I really believe that all the keys, what I needed to have, I have right now and, for me, it's like a matter of time right now to go to the top, stay there and keep myself there because there was something that I needed to learn to keep myself on the top, not just to go to the top there and back, but to keep myself stable there.” [H/t: ufc.com]
