Regian Eersel promised some major adjustments heading into the main event of ONE Fight Night 25.
'The Immortal' has always been an elite striker but the big question ahead of Oct. 4 was how he would bounce back from adversity.
At ONE Fight Night 21, he lost his ONE lightweight kickboxing world championship in a shock upset against Alexis Nicolas.
The challenger was able to land significant leg kicks and a knockdown to sway the fight in his direction at the end of the five rounds.

This wasn't the case in the rematch as Eersel reclaimed the title with an impressive display at Lumpinee Stadium.
'The Immortal' switched up his approach significantly with much more output and movement that didn't allow Nicolas to set up his big shots that worked for him the first time around.
In his in-ring interview with Mitch Chilson, Eersel spoke about how his movement was key to this fight:
"Some of the changes I did was moving a lot, worked on my speed instead of power, and you saw the results."
Regian Eersel was a step ahead at ONE Fight Night 25
Alexis Nicolas was able to start the fight strongly in his first encounter with Regian Eersel earlier this year.
As a result, the defending champion was left chasing the fight down the stretch but he flipped that on its head for the rematch.
Eersel came out the blocks fast with constant pressure and output, and he gave Nicolas no time to settle into the fight and implement his own game plan.
From here, the champion was going to need to land something too big in order to interrupt the momentum of his opponent which he wasn't able to do.
As all of the great world champions do, Eersel overcame this test by coming back even stronger than before.
