Being a professional fighter requires an elite skillset that could propel an athlete to victory and achieve their ultimate dream of becoming a world champion. These skills can be acquired through training and hard work.
But apparently, ONE lightweight Muay Thai contender Liam Nola laid down another essential trait that pro fighters should have – a thick skin for people’s harsh comments.
Nolan opened up about this during an interview with ONE Championship, saying that ignoring mixed comments from different people in the combat sports community requires a strong mind.

“You have to be strong and thick-skinned because people are going to talk and you have to not care about it. You do care, though, so it does hurt to have things said. It’s not easy.”
The Knowlesy Academy-affiliated athlete has developed this mental fortitude after an up-and-down run so far in the world’s largest martial arts organization, where he currently has an even record of three wins and three losses.
Nolan holds a win against Brown Pinas, Kim Kyung Lock, and Eddie Abasolo, while his losses were courtesy of Enriko Kehl, Bangpleenoi, and Sinsamut Klinmee. Among these defeats, the 26-year-old has an opportunity to avenge his loss to Sinsamut, as he faces him in a rematch at ONE Fight Night 16.
Nolan and Sinsamut are part of the stacked card on November 3 that will be headlined by the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title fight between Jonathan Haggerty and Fabricio Andrade, which goes down inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video will air live on US Primetime free of charge for existing Prime Video subscribers in North America.
