Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt fought in UFC 300 against Deiveson Figueiredo.

Garbrandt lost in the second round of their early preliminary card fight after Figueiredo submitted him with a rear-naked choke. In the aftermath of the fight, 'No Love' complained that he experienced vertigo during the fight and could not hold his own inside the octagon.

After a fan criticized him for the statement, citing that it was 'not a good look', Garbdrandt hit back in another post and clarified that he was only trying his hardest to not get hit in the face while maintaining his composure.

"Not a good look to say what happened to me in a fight by what I was experiencing? It's the truth takin nothing from Davison, you think I would just lay on my back not getting up whole time I was spinning not trying to get my face elbowed in and fighting through it."

Garbrandt also refused to discredit his opponent and showed respect, just like in his original statement.

"Of course figgy is a great fighter honored to fight with him."

Deiveson Figueiredo wants to fight for the bantamweight title after win over Cody Garbrandt

Cody Garbrandt's opponent Deiveson Figueiredo is a newcomer to the bantamweight division but a familiar face and a champion at the promotion.

Figueiredo, a two-time flyweight champion, made his bantamweight debut just last year against Rob Font and has won two in a row at this weight class.

In his post-fight press conference, the Brazilian called for a matchup against the top fighters of the division – champion Sean O'Malley or the No.1 contender Merab Dvalishvili.

The 36-year-old expressed his readiness and mentioned that his flyweight title fight against Brandon Moreno was mistakenly stopped and therefore he deserves another title shot.

"I'm 100 percent. I'm ready to fight again, be it Sean O’Malley, be it Merab, whoever it is. Whatever Dana decides, I'm going to be in... I'm a former champion in the other division. I'm coming up and winning in this division, and I want to fight for the championship. The fight against Moreno, there was a mistake in my view, so I think I deserve to fight for the championship next."
