'Fighting Rooster' Zhang Peimian only has one thing on his mind: ONE Championship gold.

But before he can challenge for a kickboxing world title, the Chinese striking phenom must be victorious later this week.

Peimian is merely 19 years old and has taken the striking world by storm. He debuted in ONE Championship with a lightning-quick knockout in 2022. After collecting another victory, he challenged for a world title against undefeated Canadian-Italian kickboxing mastermind Jonathan Di Bella.

Since losing a five-round decision against Di Bella, 'Fighting Rooster' has been focused on trying to earn a shot at the ONE strawweight kickboxing world title. In an interview with ONE Championship, Peimian said:

"[I want] Di Bella because he holds my belt. No one gets me more interested than him."

His journey back into world title contention begins on March 24 at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video against Russia's Torepchi Dongak.

All ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.

Zhang Peimian is determined to meet Jonathan Di Bella again

Zhang Peimian and Jonathan Di Bella had one of the most entertaining bouts of 2022. It was a back-and-forth war, in which the sharper Di Bella walked away with the win.

'Fighting Rooster' is determined to put some wins together to fight the Canadian-Italian for the ONE Championship world title once again.

In an interview with ONE Championship, the 19-year-old striker explained:

“To get another world title shot, I have to put together a winning streak. So this fight, or the next, or maybe if the promotion thinks I need three more shots before I get the rematch, I must win them all. We are targeting the belt, and everything before that is just a stumbling block.”

The Chinese fighter knows that he must defeat Torepchi Dongak at ONE Fight Night 8 first. On this upcoming match, Zhang Peimian said:

“It is really hard to dig up any information about him, so I can’t tell whether he’s good or not. But anyway, we accept whoever gets in front of us. We will take him out and keep on chasing the gold.”
