Former ONE strawweight kickboxing world title challenger Zhang Peimian made a triumphant return to action after losing his world title bid last year. 'Fighting Rooster' put in a masterful performance against Torepchi Dongak.

With a clear-cut decision win and a $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship, Zhang Peimian took the mic and called for a rematch with the man who beat him for the belt, ONE strawweight kickboxing king Jonathan Di Bella:

“The more I fight, the braver I become. I want to challenge Jonathan Di Bella. I want to get the belt."

A rematch between Peimian and Di Bella for the belt will surely produce fireworks similar to their first bout. In an interview with SCMP MMA, The 'Fighting Rooster' elaborated further on what a Di Bella-Peimian rematch would look like:

"[Jonathan] Di Bella is a very good fighter and he is very smart. So last time I fought him, I learned a lot and practiced a lot. This time, I definitely will be different. I think he is a very good fighter. I think this will still be a five-round fight so I’ll [beat] him by decision."

Zhang concluded with:

"I’m ready all the time. Anytime is ok."

Zhang Peimian batters Torepchi Dongak to unanimous decision win at ONE Fight Night 8

Zhang Peimian, a 19-year-old kickboxing marvel, won a hard-earned unanimous decision win in a strawweight kickboxing contest against Torepchi Dongak at ONE Fight Night 8 last weekend.

Both ONE Championship kickboxers wasted no time blasting each other with punches and kicks in an effort to figure each other out. Zhang, however, got the better of the striking exchanges early on. The 'Fighting Rooster' started to back Dongak into a corner and unloaded nifty combinations into the body, making a visible dent in his midsection.

Despite valiantly rallying late in the opening round, Dongak wasn't able to do enough as Zhang Peimian's early onslaught gave him the round.

‘Fighting Rooster’ brazenly entered the pocket in the second round, tagging his Russian foe with powerful strikes inside. He aped off the round by once again cornering Dongak near the fence with a brilliant three-piece combo topped off by a beautiful flying knee to the face.

Dongak tried his best to mount some serious offense come round 3 but Zhang Pemian's early work and otherworldly aggression allowed him to pull away on scorecards. The Chinese superstar continued his assault on Dongak’s body as he cruised to a dominant unanimous decision victory.
