#3 Allycia Hellen Rodrigues responds to Stamp Fairtex’s call out
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is coming off the biggest win of her career, and she’s now ready to take on another huge challenge.
The Brazilian star captured became the undisputed ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion after beating Janet Todd in their unification match at ONE Fight Night 8 this past weekend.
With undisputed gold draped on her shoulder, Rodrigues is already in the line of sight of one of the best strikers on the planet—Stamp Fairtex.
Stamp, who once held the ONE atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world titles, called out Rodrigues for a possible world title match.
Rodrigues, for her part, knew of Stamp’s challenge and declared that she’s more than ready for a match against the Thai superstar.
In her post-fight interview, Rodrigues said:
“Stamp called me out. I'm going to be there. Just tell us the day and the time.”
Rodrigues snatched the atomweight Muay Thai strap from Stamp via split decision on her ONE Championship debut in August 2020.
#2 Ham Seo Hee wants Angela Lee but knows it may be ‘sensitive’ and difficult
Ham Seo Hee’s victory against Itsuki Hirata put her in a prime position to challenge Angela Lee for the ONE women’s atomweight world title.
Fighting Lee, however, won’t be as straightforward as it seems and Ham is aware of that.
Lee has yet to signify a return to the Circle following the tragic passing of her younger sister Victoria in December.
“It's not Stamp or Alyse, of course. I would definitely wish to challenge Angela Lee, but I understand that may not be a possibility, understanding some of the more sensitive circumstances that have occurred. I haven't really thought of anyone else apart from those three people,” said Ham Seo Hee in her post-fight interview.
Stamp, the no.1-ranked women’s atomweight contender, and Anderson are set to face each other on ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 at 1stBank Center in Colorado.
The card is ONE Championship’s first on-site event in the United States and will be broadcast live and for free to North American television via Prime Video.
#1 Superlek has no problem defending kickboxing belt against Rodtang
It's the fight that gripped combat sports fans, but the showdown between Thai megastars Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Rodtang Jitmuangnon will have to wait a little bit longer.
Superlek, though, doesn’t mind the wait. The ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion is coming off a dominant third-round knockout of Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 8, and he knows that the next logical step is a fight against Rodtang.
The two were supposed to face each other at ONE Fight Night 8 but Rodtang, the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, pulled out of the contest due to injury.
Nevertheless, Superlek is confident that his mega-fight with Rodtang is just beyond the horizon. He said in his post-fight interview:
“I do not have anyone specific in mind to defend my title. If the next one is Rodtang, who will be challenging me for the belt in kickboxing, I am ready.”
